married before divorcing. please help?
my dad has been with my mother for 18 years and 2 years ago we found out he was cheating in mexico. he's been staying with her tellin us he stopped but it comes out that he's getting married on the 5th of july and has twins on the way from this lady. he wants a divorce but wants my moms money. isnt there something that says he cant do that???? where from chicago, il.. Some one please help. its hard to explian what im asking......

She needs to contact a lawyer and explain that he had an affair and now will have another family that he had abandoned his family for. Especially as the male he does not have the right or the option to take your mother's money as well as leave her. She needs to contact a lawyer right away and stop talking to him immediately. She needs to kick him out of the house. I don't know your whole situation so I don't know if she has been supporting him all these years, if so depending on your laws she may have to pay alimony, but that ends when he re-marries anyways. Most important thing is to get a lawyer now........good luck, I am sorry your dad is such a low-life.

Your dad can go through a wedding ceremony with another woman but it won't be legal. Urge your mother to contact an attorney.
