Did you have silver fillings and do you have a child with autism now?

Several European countries out-lawed mercury dental fillings years ago. What I don't understand is how they ever got approved. I have seen studies done decades ago about how mercury is very damaging in the tiniest amounts. I had 14 fillings, I had poor health, and 5 of my 6 children had autism. I have since drilled out my fillings, and recovered my children. Mercury is bad news. I am very hurt and feel betrayed that there was no warning when I got my dental work with mercury. I was lied to. Now, I am spending tons of money getting all the mercury out. I now have a different view of mankind and no longer trust agencies such as the American Dental Association.

my mother and father both have silver fillings but neither of them believe that is the cause for my younger brother having autism

they believe it was a birth defect. they are not blaming shots, or foods, or anything that happened during the pregnancy. they are looking towards the future rather then focusing on the past. whats done is done

i personally believe that autism is a birth defect, like downs and the like. i do not entirely believe in the shots theory (even though i agree that there is just too much being pumped into a baby that no wonder some get a bad reaction).

i think there would be more more more people who have children that have autism in my parents age if the case with the silver fillings were true. i would research when did dentists reduce the practice of silver fillings and the rate of having a child with autism. the rate is alot higher now and more dentists are not using silver fillings anymore.

I have an Autistic nephew and I'm sure his mother has silver fillings, but, I really don't think that's the a major contributor. I'm the last of eight children and my grandmother had 16 children so the amount of people in our family is huge. Needless to say, we have a couple hundred family members all with dental work. We are all fine. The girl who had the autistic baby was married into our family and she did receive some fertility treatment. She had a hormone imbalance that was corrected with hormone treatment. I come from an extremely fertile family line. So I sort of blame the fact that she was injected with hormones to become pregnant and I do believe that there are risks involved with any type of hormone treatment. She seems to want to blame his vaccinations. But again, we all have been vaccinated with the "old school" vaccinations and the new formula vaccinations. So a lot of research is needed. I personally believe that we have polluted our world so much, that its in effect creating our bodies to be polluted with so many different agents of chemicals, hormones & metals. My ancestors had less polution to ingest on a daily basis than is possible now. Even if we are super cafeful, whats really in our food & water (be it organic or otherwise)? There could be so many factors related to this condition. But I totally understand that you need answers. I hope you find it because it will help the future generations. Good Luck & God Bless

That 's an interesting question. I am the parent of a child with autism (low functioning) and I have never had any cavities... correction, never had cavities BEFORE my autistic child was born! So in my case this would not be a factor but it doesn't mean there isn't a connection (who knows what chemicals and minerals we're exposed to on a daily basis). Also, my brother has Aspergers and my Grandma was diagnosed at 51 with frontal temporal dementia (Alzheimer's and Autism...?) so I believe there's a strong genetic susceptibility but who knows what else is involved. I had ten amalgam fillings. Yes, our doc is quite certain it played a part in my son's autism. I broke a tooth during my 8th month and the emergency dentist would not pull it, but drilled out the filling with NO safety measures. I didn't know then what I do now...

I am 62and yes I had numerous silver fillings more than 8 as a child and teen. No I gave birth to three normal healthy children and have six normal healthy grandchildren.

I have silver fillings and an asd child. I believe this is just a possible factor. My ASD child has a fraternal twin brother he is fine. I believe environmental factors, vaccines and food allergies are also contributors as well as their own little bodies unable to detoxify these toxins. We are currently pulling lead, mercury and arsenic out of my son with chelation with our DAN! Dr. He is improving and I truly believe he will fully recover.

I have 3 molars with silver fillings and have twins with autism. Thank you for the information. I feel overloaded with possibilities for my boys' condition but just about every explanation boils down to something me or my husband are knowingly/unknowingly, directly/indirectly responsible for.

I despise the constant feeling that we failed them somehow.
