Showing a rabbit?
What's involved when showing a rabbit? We have a Himalayan and are considering showing him, probably wont but he's only 1, we may show him in the future, i just don't know what's involved, anyone know?
This is him :)...
Extra info
His previous owner entered him in shows, so the rabbit is used to the kind of procedure carried out. He was rescued as his previous owner didn't look after him and was going to end his life. :(
He was underweight and his nails were way too long, since we got him we have corrected these problems! :)

Showing a rabbit is a very good thing to do. I have a mini Rex, and she is a show rabbit, and I plaan to show her. With show rabbits, whether they were bread for it or not, you need to go to the shows. Go to shows in your local area ( go to your homepage and search rabbit shows in: you city or state) With a show rabbit, it needs to be used to touch, pet it often, and inspect its teeth, ect. So it gets used to this process, so he/she is not alarmed when the judges do it. Good luck, and if you need more help, just contact me!

if you want to get into showing you should join the ARBA..American rabbit breeders assn. they will tell you when and where the shows are. there is not much to it you just take the rabbit and put it on the table the judge does the rest. good luck!
