If the IRS determines that you made 'too much' money last year, does that mean no stimulus check for you ?
* My income from my job was not huge but I received money from a divorce. Taxes were taken out already.

I believe the cut off was $75,000 for a single person and $150,00 for a couple. If you made that much why in the hell would you need another $600. That's just greedy.
I'm not saying you personally, just in general.

If you made over a certain amount you don't get a check. BUT it has to be income. Was the amount from the divorce on your taxes?
You can go to www.irs.gov and there is a calculator on there, you just input the information off of your tax form and it tells you whether or not you get a stimulus check.
Hope that helps!

I'm not sure what your question is saying. If you are saying you made $2000 that was reported on your tax return, then no you aren't eligible - you have to have made at least $3000 to be eligible. If you are saying that you paid $2000 in federal income tax (net after your refund) then you'd be eligible - but if you owe back taxes, they'd keep it for that.

I hope the IRS doesn't think I make too much money! I only make $22,ooo per year. A stimulus check of $300 is more than I make in three days!

There is a maximum income in order to get the stimulus check. I don't recall the exact amount but it is based on your adjusted gross income from your 2007 taxes.

I worked my @$$ off all year long as an assistant manager and only got 300.00. A person I know got 900 and they lived off of unemployment for most of the year and have a kid.
Seems like if your status is single, you get screwed. that's what happened to all the single people I know including myself.
and people wonder why others play the system... You can't get ahead.

Anyone that made over 125K last year is exempt from the stimulus payments. If you made that or more then you will not get a payment.

Any income over 125k I think and you won't get one. I know my husband and I didn't get one as we made too much.
