An LCD will use a fraction of the power of a CRT monitor.

A CRT monitor needs a ton of electricity to generate an electron beam, and sweep the electron beam across your screen's surface.

An LCD uses a very efficient, solid-state backlight and screen.

Since hardware varies greatly, it's virtually impossible to determine an accurate margin, let alone a percentage.

The best I can do for you is call the difference "substantial".

    HI

If a CRT monitor use 100watt/h power, LCD use 15watt/h.

    LCD doesn't have beam.
