Is instant messaging a seperate charge than texting?

okay i have sprint and texting is unlimited for 15.00 a month, is instant messaging a seperate charge than texting? im just wondering cause its basically the same thing. thanks i really wanna know.

    It can be 1 of 2 things.

    With some carriers, such as TMobile, messages sent through IM count as text messages, so although it's not an extra fee, the messages sent are deducted from your text messages.

    With others, such as Verizon, you pay a fee to use the IM feature, (it ranges from 1.00-5.00). In some cases, you are only charged for when you use it.

    I'm not sure how it works for Sprint, exactly, but I'm pretty sure it would be the 2nd explanation I gave you.

    aim demands a documents connection, in case you have not have been given a plan that is composed of documents expenses, the fees which you will incur must be extensive. i might call client provider earlier fidgeting with the browser on a telephone that's not set up for documents provider.

    I know for AT&T it uses the internet, so it costs the same as it does if you got on the internet on your phone, but i don't know about sprint.
