How come people never choose their Best Answers?

Isn't it irritating when people don't bother to resolve their own questions?

Update:

Hmm, I really don't buy the "I didn't have enough time" argument. If you had time to post the answer, you certainly have enough time to close it.

Yes and no.. Sometimes, when you go to alot of trouble and time to help them. Or they say "Please, please help"! and you do, then they just disappear..

But It's life, and it happens. I asked a question the other day and I couldn't choose - I had alot of good answers. I also wasn't able to get back to the computer right away, so it almost went into voting. And I almost let it..

Some people do this..It's an option on here.

I don't worry about it for the pts. though. I trust that the community will begin reading all the answers thoroughly before picking them, or not picking them biasedly. It doesn't help Y!A's or anyone in the long run to do so.

Alot more people are picking their own BA's these days, - thanks to them reading the Community Guidelines properly, or just asking how things work.

I would say 90% of the time I ask a question I either gets very poor answers that make it obvious the person didn't read the question thoroughly, or just people promoting their website, or no answers, or answers that are blatantly wrong or uninformational that's why.

And a lot of people don't have the time to go back and pick best answer...in fact..for the last year I didn't even know how to pick past answer until recently...but it didn't matter cause I hardly had a best answer...

But I now pick best answer when I can..which reminds me..I think I can pick one now..

I have wondered about this too! I guess maybe they just forget or get bored with the medium and go off to something else. I know for one of my questions even with add'l details I was not getting the quality of answer that I wanted from people knowledgable about the subject so I just "abandoned" the question. I didn't want to do that, but I just was not impressed with the people who had clicked the blue answer button.

Source(s): A person who has opted (in the past) to not choose a best answer.

    Yes!! I agree with you.

    There are many unresolved questions.

I have an interesting answer and added details. Still, today, it's not resolved!!!!

I agree if people have time to post the question then they should answer the question.

well if no one really gives the asker what they are looking for they wont pick it.

    some are just lazy.

    its kind of annoying.
