Has a TV commercial ever ruined a song for you?
I still have trouble listening to "Rock & Roll" by Zeppelin after all of those stupid Cadillac commercials a few years back. Stupid commercials.
Fah Q...I guess the idea of a rock song being turned into 30-second jingle which is repeated hundreds of times in order to sell a product turns me off a little bit.

Yes, that is the perfect example of a commercial ruining a great song! Here we have Cadillac, the ultimate conservative auto brand, what I always associated with guys in pastel pants hanging around country clubs talking Nixonian politics and listening to Sinatra, is suddenly seeking to identify themselves with what was originally a rather rebellious and raucous tune from a band that was anything but conservative.
My, how times have changed. The Led Z. generation is now the country club fat cat generation.
But, I have to say that they iPod commercials have gotten me juiced about the songs they use. So, I guess it can go both ways? But usually the commercial ruins the song for me.

Personally I cannot stand the Target commercials with The Beatles' "HelloGoodbye" in them. Why would you butcher a perfectly great Beatles hit into a wishy-washy pop song?

Uhhhh I wanted to stab the E!network.
Never put good punk with those stupid celebrities

uh, no. I don't care if a song is played in the commercial. It's not like I'm gonna stop listening to it. It does not matter to me.

Big deal..why would you have trouble listening to a song because it was in a commercial? LZ is mainstream already.
