I believe the problem is that you might be limiting yourself to Hall county, when the family may be in different places than what you have been told.

This is not what you asked.. but significant-

    Name: Anna Whisenant

    Estimated Birth Year: abt 1822

    Age in 1870: 48

    Birthplace: Georgia

    Home in 1870: Lumpkin, Georgia

    Race: White

    Gender: Female

Value of real estate: View Image

    Post Office: Dahlonega

    Household Members:

    Name Age

    Anna Whisenant 48

    Thomas Whisenant 24

    Adam Whisenant 20

    Ephraim Whisenant 18

    Frances Whisenant 16

    Nancy Whisenant 11

    Jefferson Whisenant 9

    Mary Whisenant 6

    Rinda Whisenant 4

This is Annie Whisenant, grandmother to Edmond Porter. I picked her up because I looked at several of the other posts. Since Edmond and Thomas Porter are her grandsons.. it seems clear that one of Annie's daughters married a Porter.

What slapped me upside the head.. is that living on one side of Annie in this census is a James McElreath, who is age 60. He does not have a daughter, Emma.. I will wager that Emma may be a granddaughter to him. On the other side of Annie is Kiziah Porter, a 27 yrs old mother, with a daughter. No husband is there. I can't help but wonder if Kiziah is an older daughter to Annie. Since there is no husband shown, it is unclear if this Kiziah MIGHT be the mother to Edmond that is being sought.

This is all from 1870, Lumpkin co, Georgia. There are many loose ends to tie up, but it seems to be a strong connecting point. I have not forgotten your Cape request... I will try and send as much as I can find, but it will take some time to review and see if I can pull some of those missing pieces.
