what is it about us gays that make us easier to hate than other "sinners"?
you dont see people demonstrating against people who work on the sabbath, or those who eat pork, or even those who sleep with their neigbour's wife...
what is it about us that scares people so much to fill them with so much anger?

They are bigots, they are far from God-like, they love to throw stones, no one is without sin and no sin is greater than the other, but man won't see that. And people involved in organized religion can spew the most hate and yet they are doing things like embezzling and having affairs but yet want to preach out against homosexuality, as if anyone asked to be gay!! who the f*** would want a life of ridicule and rejection??!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're making an assumption that everyone is like those people you see protesting the gay lifestyle. I'm Catholic and straight. I believe that homosexuality is a sin. But I don't hate gay people or protest against their lifestyle. There's an old cliche that says "despise the sin, love the sinner." Unfortunately, many people who claim to follow the laws of God conveniently forget this.
Remember the New Testament story where Jesus stopped the crowd from stoning a woman who had been adulterous? "Let the one who hasn't sinned cast the first stone." More people, especially those claiming to believe in the words of Christ, should follow His example.
As to your "scares" question: I think there are many people who see homosexuality as a life into which people are "recruited." And many look at pedophilia as a form of homosexual behavior, which it's not. Some people might even believe that they were "recruited" into the lifestyle, especially if it involved hustling and drugs. But, those people made a choice to to what they did.
I think another problem is the in-your-fact attitude that many radical and activist gays have toward the straight community. People in general don't like be told what they have to accept or reject, and many believe that "accepting" the gay lifestyle is an immoral act on their part.
I'm a mid-50s married father with a number of gay and lesbian friends and acquaintances. What my gay friend do with their lives is their business, and I would no more think of criticizing them as they would criticize me. I don't judge people on who and how they love others. There are far worse immoralities (murder, rape, child molestation, theft, etc) for which people will be judged, and I believe that will happen after we leave this life.
That's just my 2 cents. Hope it makes sense.

because we're different. Everyone sins, but most people are not homosexual. Socially, America has a very conservative culture. Although we aren't as bad as the poorer societies of the world (middle east, africa, latin america, etc.) we are not even close to being as open and progressive as the cultures of Europe. Countries such as Spain, France, UK, Italy, and all the other European nations do not have problems with homosexuals. They treat them as equals to heterosexuals, and do not have disputes over the legitimacy of homosexual marriages. Hopefully America will someday realize that homosexuals are just like heterosexuals....

I guess because gay people are open with their sins. Other sinners (all of us are sinners) are more ashamed of themselves. Don't get me wrong-- I don't by any means believe that homosexuals should be ashamed of themselves. Heck, I think it's great when a gay person comes out of the closet! It takes a lot of courage and strength and self awareness to do such a thing. But some people are surprised by this, and therefor, see it as sinful.

Well I'm a Christian, so I think I have some insight as to how they think lol. Most people will think of homosexuality as a perversion of the natural order (meaning, of course, that tradition holds that man and woman go together etc), and since homosexuality seems like a reversal (of sorts) of this natural order then people will automatically assume that it's wrong. Does that make sense?

If those who truly based their prejudice on what supposedly constitutes sin then they would be equally prejudiced against men who shave, barbers, people with tattoos, pork eaters, football players, and people who eat shellfish you would see them protesting at barber shops, carrying signs that say "God Hates Shrimpeaters," and saying "Adam ate fig, he didn't eat pig."
The reason you do not see this is because they are not prejudiced due to their religion, but are cherry-picking certain words to justify a pre-existing prejudice. They are placing their bigotry ahead of their Bible.

Hatred is in our genes I blame our forefathers noone can just get along! My best friend married a woman even though he was gay he was scared not to! Today more and more gay people are coming out making them stronger and demanding equality!! My mothers cousin is a copper and he hates gay people!!! He should never have been allowed to be a copper!! I think they are just scared and fear comes from not understanding and they have no intention of tryin to understand so just give em a wide birth they dont deserve the attention.

I think it has alot to do with the sex part for religious people, not the relationship part. They say people are preverted for having sex with someone of the same sex but they are the the ones that can only think about the SEX part of the relationship, not: maybe they both love eachother. Whose mind is really in the gutter....?

This made me think of a Gandhi quote
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
But to be fair there are protests against shellfish
