I've never read Meg Cabot, but I was a big fan of Christopher Pike and Caroline B. Cooney in middle school. I still read Christopher Pike every now and then - he's been writing some adult-level books.

Meg Cabot is awesome, although most writers that come out with a few books a year have ghost writers, people who write for them. So your favorite author may in fact be ten authors.

You should read Zombies v.s. Unicorns. It's a bunch of short stories by different teen fiction writers. I remember Cabot did one of them and it would be a good way to sample a lot of different y/a authors in one book. You could try Scott Westerfeld, Tamora Pierce, Malorie Blackman.

Omg Caroline B Cooney all the waayy!!!! I LOVED her books the Face on the Milk Carton series, Emergency Room, and I especially loved Flight 116 is Down (I think that was the title lmao)
