Hey Ladies On The Nuva RING?

If you are on the Nuva ring and your periods are less then 7 days should you put the Nuva ring in before the 7th day? Or will my periods be 7 days on this?

I have heard that it is more common for the period to be shorter. It can take a few days before your period starts after the ring has been removed. Regardless of the period cycle, you should always replace the new ring after 7 days. If you wait longer you will need back up contraception. I have heard of people who leave the ring in the fourth week and put a new ring in that following Sunday in an effort to completely skip the period alltogether. Personally I have not attempted to do so, so I cannot really comment on that practice. If you aren't able to discuss these questions with your doctor, you should try calling Planned Parenthood. They are an excellant resource. You owe it to yourself to get professional answers and not rely on the general public. You don't want to wind up pregnant due to misinformation. The Nuvaring website also has a lot of good tips. :-) Good luck!

No. You follow the schedule you normally follow. So if you have it out for seven days, then you would insert a new one after the seven days are up. My periods became shorter on Nuva Ring. Now when I take my ring out for seven days, my period shows up on day five and is gone by day seven. Of course I've been skipping periods with the ring because of my endometriosis.

I'm on that and my doctor said when you finish your period put the ring in and keep it in for 3 weeks and then the 4th week should be your period and if your late that doesn't matter. Just keep the ring out and put it back in after the 4th week. You can still wear the ring and have your period and using a tampon. But with me that's a little to much shoved up inside of me if you know what I mean....LOL.

I keep mine in constantly (with my Dr.'s recommendation). I keep it in and replace it with a new one on the 1st of every month. After a couple of months of doing this, I don't have a period anymore.
