Universal remotes (good ones) are the best thing to come along in a long time. I love mine. I have one of the Harmony remotes.

You can program this remote to control virtually any device and it will immensely simplify the operation and control of your home theater. They *do* take some time during the initial setup/configuration, but once you have it set, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Yes you may still use all the original remotes for your devices.

Also, you can program the Harmony to control multiple TVs, if you need to. The more complex your setup the more time you will need to spend setting up the remote and the various functions you expect the remote to perform.

Note: the Harmony may make assumptions about what devices are powered on, and their current state, so if you change something with the original remote, the Harmony will not know about it. This is not a big deal as it is relatively easy to bring the Harmony and the current state of your home theater back into sync.

Nothing will stop the original remote from working. Even a cheap universal remote will control multiple tv's, you just may need to use the "sat" buton or any one you're not using for the second tv. It may take you a little while to get it all running properly (they're never as simple as they should be) but it's worth the initial frustration.

    Good Luck!
