Uh. Oh. This is gonna be hard to fix.

-Note: this is assuming you have Win2k. Anything else, and I can't help you.

-Note2: this is also assuming you have a knowledge of DOS commands.

First of all, make sure that it really is missing by booting in to the Microsoft Recovery Console. Put in your install CD, and follow the instructions to get to it. Type "set AllowAllPaths = TRUE" minus the "". Now look in your root directory. Type "attrib -H ntldr". Type "dir ntldr". If you get a message that says "File Not Found" then you need to follow my instructions later. If you do not get a message, then shout horray! Your computer is not broken, just suffering a hard drive blip. (This happened to me the other day) Just turn your computer off a while, and turn it on a while later.

Now, if you do get that message, then you better hope you have a service pack installed or you have your recovery disc. If you have a SP installed look in C:\Winnt\ServicePackFiles\i386

Now copy the ntldr file in that location to the root, and reboot.

If you have your recovery disc, copy ntldr from there onto your disc.

If you didn't do either of those, your outta luck.

Alright, that should do it for ya.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Try not to go on deleting sprees if you don't know what you are doing.

If you have any boot disks for windows, look through them on another pc, if you find NTDLR, put it at the root of your C: drive. You could also do what this site: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm , says, too. I have had the same problem, too, I had to reinstall windows.
