How did the JPA and RT start?
What was the reason the group started? I joined after it was in existance but I was wondering what caused it to be created to begin with?
No this is not a bash on any one or any one else's faith, I am just curious to know how it started.
Thanks.
Thank you three so far that helps much.

The JPA was started because paperback writer answered a question of mine and said "we should start an alliance between the pagans and the jews".. I said, "cool, let's call it JPA for Jewish Pagan Alliance" and it took off from there. Frau Hunter really got the ball rolling along with Heathen Princess, and several of our jewish friends..
It's been for support of each other, and to answer the ignorance of those who claim to know what Jews and Pagans believe. We now just do it for the cupcakes.

I feel Free Thinker is in error slightly. Pagans and Jews weren't upset at the Christians "stealing" our holidays and rituals. We were upset at the bashings we were enduring almost daily and frustrated with the misconceptions and lies out there about our respective religions.
We wanted to utilize the Contact aspect of Yahoo to alert each other to interesting or frustrating questions so we can spread tolerance, fight intolerance and get out accurate information (as we see our own truths).
We aren't anti anything except anti-bigotry.

Months and months ago, I joked about how a Pagan Jewish alliance or support group would be fun. KALLAN then took the iniative and added JPA to her username, and now here we are. So it was started by both a Pagan and a Jew, which is rather nice :)

The JPA started because both Pagans and Jews were upset at Christians for stealing their traditions, such as "Christmas" trees and "Easter" rabbits.
The A.R.T. was started by me as a means of having people of all faiths accept those who believe in a different religion they do, without claiming "I am wrong, you are right", etc.

Free thinker IS correct about why it started, though - it was all about stolen holidays, particularily Easter. It actually started this easter.

To add to Paperback's great answer, we then decided (I hope it wasn't me, because I'd then be responsible for the milk, too!) to join for the cupcakes.
(I love Tastycake buttercream cupcakes. MMMM. Buttercream!)
Edit to Free Thinker: So A.R.T. stands for...please?
