Where's Kelly Clarkson?

Why wasn't Kelly Clarkson on Season 7 of American Idol. Is there a conflict between her the producers of the show or was she just busy doing her own thing?

    On June 3, 2008, Clarkson again confirmed on her official fan club website that she has been recording more songs for her fourth album, this time with Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello. Sam and Louis also wrote and produced the song "Anytime" which appeared on Clarkson's debut album Thankful in 2003
