What is the name (and location!) of this rollercoaster?

I was watching a show on Discovery Channel about the "worlds fastest/longest/most looping/etc. roller coasters", and how all the parks are competing. One of them was a bottomless roller coaster that twisted straight up into the air on a double-helix looking track before reversing and going back down the way it came. I only caught a glimpse of it, so I have no idea what the name and/or location of this coaster is, so can you help me out here?

Edit: Oh yeah, and I want to ride this after going on DropZone say, I don't know, a bazillion times! (Same feeling of jumping off of a skyscraper without the nasty ending.)

Haha yeah, I've seen that episode a couple times. The coaster that they were showing is "Wicked Twister" at Cedar Point, in Ohio. It's a inverted impulse coaster, that launches riders 72 miles per hour back and forth up the steel towers that twist. Really unique coaster, I loved it!

You can see photos of it here:http://rcdb.com/ig1571.htm

And info on this beast here: http://rcdb.com/id1571.htm

And you can see the official site with the coaster here: http://ww3.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coaste...

    Hope that helped! :)

Source(s): I've watched that episode, I know what you're talking about I've been on the ride before.

It sounds like your describing Wicked Twister at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. I live close to Cedar Point and love this ride, except that I'm short with short legs, so it takes me several jumps to get in the seat. If you go to Cedar Point, make sure you ride it along with all of the other great roller coasters at Cedar Point. I put the webpage for this ride from Cedar Point's website in the source list...take a look to see if it is the one you saw.

I'm not sure exactly which park and I don't know the ride definately but I'm pretty sure it was at Coney Island in New York. If it's not there it'll definately be at either Busch Gardens in Virginia or Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

Sorry I couldn't help you more specifically...
