Why the hate?

I have noticed something on this site. People who own a PS3 have nothing but hate for 360 owners while 360 owners just never mention ps3's. Why can't you ps3 owners just learn to accept that there is an alternate gaming system that some people like more than PS3. Personally, I own both and prefer the 360 because of game selection. Why do PS3 owners hate us 360 likers so much?

Update:

I would like to hear an answer from a ps3 owner. It will be interesting to hear their perspective.

These types of people are what we call... gaming fanboys. For some reason they can't get it through their head that there's an alternative. An alternative that's just as good as their own system.

I'd say there's hate on both sides of the fence, but an explanation to why there might be more hatred from PS3 owners than 360 owners might be because they own a system that for all intents and purposes is "superior" but falls short because of a small library and poor online community. I'd be a little bitter myself.

Well there are also PS3 haters too so it goes both ways. I guess both systems are sort of targeting for the same market and because of that there is a lot of friction - you don't really find the same thing happening with people who own a Wii (since they're usually a totally different demographic - the casual gamers, the ones old enough to remember SNES games, kids, etc.). Hardcore gamers tend to want to play PS3 and Xbox360.
