Is there any point for me to ugrade to XP SP3?

I have two questions: How likely is it that this will brick my computer, and also, what is the advantage of having SP3 over SP2?

Update:

The main reason I worry is because my friend recently tried to upgrade a computer from SP1 to SP2, and it stopped booting.

Also, when I said bricking my computer, what I meants was having to reinstall. (I have way too much experience installing different operating systems)

Update 2:

Also, and I know it wouldn't do it, the OS could erase the bios.

Anyways, are there any compatibility issues?

    1. Yes, there is a point.

    2. There is 0% chance that it will brick your computer. I would put the ballpark of it necessitating a reinstall at about 4%.

    3. Various security updates (very important), and minor bug fixes / performance enhancements (not very important).

    1. Extremely, extremely unlikely to brick your computer, just don't do something silly like turning it off whilst it's upgrading.

    2. You probably won't notice much of a difference, maybe some small changes here and there, that was the case with me. It makes some tweaks to the security. It's a big security update that includes all the updates before it, and new ones. (So if you're not a person who keeps up to date, it'll install all the updates you missed)

It will be pushed it via Automatic Update soon anyway, so one way or another you'll get Windows XP SP3. There's nothing to worry about.

EDIT: No, there is no compatibility issues.
