Federal inprisonment information?

Hello. I have a friend that has been in federal prison since 1/2003. Their projected release date is Mar. 2011. If it matters, they were incarcerated for illegal drug distribution. I was wondering if anyone had any information on some sort of early release program for this individual.

I asked this because i would like an adult answer. Please no foolish comments.

    i believe the 80% is right (from the first person to answer) and early release depends on his past record, his behavior in prison and if the parole bpard thinks he will be a threat when he is released.

    Because it's Federal crime he must do at least 80% of his time.
