2. Self-deleting an answer: -2 points.
3. Incurring a violation in a question: -10 points (subsequently deleted).
4. Incurring a violation in an answer: -12 points (-10 for the violation and -2 for the offending answer; subsequently deleted).
5. Losing an unsuccessful violation appeal: -10 points (in addition to the last two items).

It is not impossible to lose points here, in fac out of what everybody has answered you can lose points when the ways people here have already told you, and if you have viloated in anyway, Yahoo Answers will notify you, whether or not agree with it.
