Hot Dog Chili:
1/2 lb hamburger
15 oz can pinto beans
1 teaspoon cumin
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 cloves minced garlic
2 tablespoons brown sugar or pancake syrup
1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes or onion powder
1/4 teas. red pepper (more if you like it HOT)
Pinch of salt
1. Put all ingredients in pan.
2. Do not cook hamburger first.
3. Cook all at the same time.
4. it makes for a smoother sauce.
5. Cook down for 10 to 15 minutes until thickened.
This is a pretty old recipe. Dh's favorite.

If you just want chili to put over a hot dog, it's just easiest to heat up a can ... Stagg's is excellent canned chili, and there are alot of varieties (including vegetarian)

jar of salsa, 1/2 lb groud beef (browned), 1 can of kidney beans, 1 can of chili beans, chili powder, cumin.
Heat in a slow cooker all day.

brown hamburger, add some tomato paste, 1 tablespoon each of chile powder & cumin, if you have any onions, dice small and fry with the hamburger. Add more chile powder if needed.

you can cut hotdogs in to the chilli or cook the whole dogs with the chilli you could also layer the hotdogs in a cassarole dish and pour chilli over them add cheese and bake
