Do wormholes cause time paradoxes?

Please be specific as I am already fairly expert in this area and need more than the quick answers I could give.

    Hello Graham

    So that's where you've been - I did wonder!

Maybe I should be asking you this one - do they cause time paradoxes?

This isn't my area at all but in my humble opinion any breaking or bending of time could theoretically cause inconsistencies.

What if they were gateways to other dimensions and a form of space travel? We developed our concept of time and it would have no relevance outside our known universe.

The existence of a parallel universe and what it consisted of would certainly turn many theories upside down that is assuming we could find one, travel through it and return to tell the tale.

If the many-worlds interpretation is correct then there would be no paradoxes.

Say for instance you had sufficient curvature of space time that allowed to visit yourself in the past.

Up to the point until you stepped through you would be in you universe.

However once you pass through you would be entering a parallel existence.

Any act you did would not effect the universe you had just exited, but instead the one you had just entered.

You would be killing your parallel self in a different space-time continuum.

This resolution does not actually allow you to travel into your universes determined past and chage events that have transpired.

Instead you arrive in a parallel universe where the events that intail what you would call your present still rest firmly on a great number of different probabilities.

It is not helpful to think of that parallel universe of having existed as anything but a feild of probability itself, and rather that it can only be experienced after you have been processed by the folded spacetime.

Source(s): I know this probably did not help with the technical particulars but this is how theories I have encountered renormalize the paradoxes.

well, the last time i went through one my watch stopped (Damn Cascios), and they just discovered that the edge of the Universe bends instead of the circle that used to be the theory~!!!

so i guess that means eventually you will end up face to face with your as* end~!!!

    glad to help~!!!

How can you be expert in something that is a vague hypothesis with no proof?

What are your published articles? in what recognized publications?
