Where did all the glamour go?
Where did all the glamour go
Swear I went to sleep yesterday
When it was still alive
Where did all the stardust go
Guess I laid in way too late
The shelves all look dusty
The satin dresses neglected
The air feels altogether musty
Maybe I should shake a leg
Find the powder and paint
Create the face
That turns a sinner to a saint
Light the gas
Put the coffee on
Forget Mr Yesterday
Funny, I just carry on.
Tonight there’ll be another
Using his charm no doubt
I’ll smile sweetly
Before the candles go out
Listening to the music
Dreaming of things to be
A rose coloured future
With him and me
Some kind of guy
To spend some time together
Grow along the way
Watching the years weather
To say,
Yes, we have a tale to tell
The glamour, moonlight
We did it well.
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoDoes Yahoo prevent healthy debate sometimes through being over cautious.?
Bearing in mind that there is a diversity of religious belief here. I have found Yahoo to be over cautious, Now I am from what some may describe as a strong Christian background by birth although I am a 'free-thinker' not ruled by religion. I cannot help but think that after experience here, what proclaims to be a religious and spiritual site e is far too censored for other faiths- is it just me?

KEEP THE CANDLE BURNING
Life is like a Candle; it burns brightly.
The experiences we have are like the wax dripping.
Sometimes our candle feels almost snuffed out,
But it is not until the candle burns right down that it truly expires.
We must learn how to rekindle the flame and protect it from some of life’s elements;
To keep it in a place that it will illuminate, give warmth and last as long as possible.
By doing so we can learn to burn more brightly
And fill our life with light where once there were shadows.

4 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhy's this fussing and fighting, I want to know?
We should really love each other in peace and harmony. Instead of here fussing and fighting like we ain't supposed to be?
The immortal words of Bob Marley
Does anyone here agree - shouldn't we be living in peace and harmony and stop letting war and dischord happen in the name of religion?

It could be anything at all; an invention, a cure, an object, a thought, a gift.
Let your imagination run riot...............

Open yourself to the greater things in life
And watch love grow.
There is nothing more sad than a wounded heart
That won't let old feelings go.
Too many times we speak in haste
Of things that shouldn't be said.
Where maybe an ounce of silence
Would be so much better instead.
The mind we foolishy treasure
Plays tricks on one and all.
One moment we are flying high
The next about to fall.
If we would only realise
That time is of the essence,
Then maybe we would realise
Without the need for lessons.
7 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoHonest opinion - should I drop the pen?
We took a walk my friend and I,
Under the roof of an azure sky.
Hand in hand we passed the time,
In fields of daisies and celandines.
We came to rest, him by me,
Beneath the shade of an old oak tree
And there he spoke of words so sweet
No nightingale could e'er compete.
14 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoPhilosophy, the least judgemental personal opinion, please give your opinion?
A lot of other forums on 'ask' appear to have very definite views. On this forum I have noticed that people seem to give a lot more 'thought' before giving the 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' please explain, in your own words. why you feel that is?
7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoPastor Chad what do you know about Tribulations, what do you perceive the Antichrist to be?
The bible contains mistranslations. What Christians perceive as the AntiChrist, and I am a Christian, is actually just that. It was translated from ancient language that originally meant the BEARER, BRINGER OF LIGHT or the MORNING STAR, ie VENUS
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are people asking about the Rapture & Tribulation?

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes anyone understand the significance of the Virgin of Israel?
Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O House of Israel.
The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall rise no more: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
For thus saith the Lord God; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel. Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
