Where did all the glamour go?

Where did all the glamour go

Swear I went to sleep yesterday

When it was still alive

Where did all the stardust go

Guess I laid in way too late

The shelves all look dusty

The satin dresses neglected

The air feels altogether musty

Maybe I should shake a leg

Find the powder and paint

Create the face

That turns a sinner to a saint

Light the gas

Put the coffee on

Forget Mr Yesterday

Funny, I just carry on.

Tonight there’ll be another

Using his charm no doubt

I’ll smile sweetly

Before the candles go out

Listening to the music

Dreaming of things to be

A rose coloured future

With him and me

Some kind of guy

To spend some time together

Grow along the way

Watching the years weather

To say,

Yes, we have a tale to tell

The glamour, moonlight

We did it well.

    Open a window.

    Let the fresh air in.

The spark of the sunlight may light a fire.

The spangles and make-up that glowed before,

    Are yesterday's image.

    Seek a new door.

But look not to others to define you.

    Reverse your perspective.

    The fire's in you.

    Comfort in partners

    Safe havens provide,

    But comfort begins

    And ends from inside.

    So open your heart,

    And let glamour show.

Let the world come to you.

    Your shine they will know.

sometime the glamor is all Hollywood and magazine.....hype...better still hypnosis...give me a muddy pond and a fishing pole..I know is real...and keep the speed boat and ocean cruise love delusions....that is not to say your glamor was a delusion....it IS gone...and the muddy pond..minus the laughter of children now..is still there..hugs.

Source(s): oh, but I am not the grand river either...a small pond...a small..muddy pond
