Why do we believe that the Second Coming and the Anti Christ will be a person/people?

As Jesus Christ ascended into heaven at the completion of His mortal ministry, two angels declared to His Apostles, "This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11).

When the Savior comes again, He will come in power and glory to claim the earth as His kingdom. His Second Coming will mark the beginning of the Millennium.

The Second Coming will be a fearful, mournful time for the wicked, but it will be a day of peace for the righteous. The Lord declared:

"They that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.

"And the earth shall be given unto them for an inheritance; and they shall multiply and wax strong, and their children shall grow up without sin unto salvation.

"For the Lord shall be in their midst, and his glory shall be upon them, and he will be their king and their lawgiver."

The Lord has not revealed exactly when He will come again: "The hour and the day no man knoweth, neither the angels in heaven, nor shall they know until he comes." But He has revealed to His prophets the events and signs that will precede His Second Coming.

Anyone or anything that actively opposes Jesus Christ (either openly or secretly) is an anti-Christ.

The trouble is that so many people get hung up on the 'specific words' or the 'exact interpretation of the text' or not. These terms were meant to convey ideas and I also like what Tinkerbell said, it is about making choices now and holdiing values now and living decently now and trying to conserve our home, this planet, now. Spirituality is real, not some 'airy fairy' 'mumbo jumbo'. Whatever your belief, non-belief is a form of belief, if you live good, if you try your best to be kind, whatever comes you are better fitted to deal with it because you are at peace with yourself. Don't believe those who talk all the time about 'survival of the fittest', humankind rose above the evolutionary straightjacket by co-operating and being social, we do not have to live in self-imposed isolation as cultures or societies or individuals, we can embrace difference. Of course if we do we stick two metaphorical fingures up to to those who want us to be narrow-minded culturally insular, because that makes us easier to control.

I'm a preterist Christian who believes the 2nd coming (Parousia) was about the end of the old covenant system and the beginning of the everlasting new covenant. It happened to Jesus' contemporaries in AD70 at the end of the Roman seiges upon Jerusalem. Nero was the antichrist, but the Bible attests to many antichrists coming at that time.

I Jn 2:18 - Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.

It was the "last hour" for them, at the time this was written. Not the last hour for us 2000 years later.

I am a Christian, and I have read the final chapter in the Book, but I really am wondering is what if George W Bush has something to do with the coming of the AntiChrist. Before long no one will be able to buy or sell anything without the mark of the beast. Revelation speaks of wars and rumors of wars as well as natural desasters and famines. Get yourself a bible and read for yourself, this is just the labor pains of what is to come. Look at the price of GAS and FOOD, Sunamais, Tornadoes (in New York & Chicago???) Hurricains, Cyclones,Volcanoes... when else in history have you seen such things??? People need to open their eyes. It is comming sooner than you think.

Ask yourself, what if you would have to take a mark to buy gas or food, to support your parents, or your children...Would You ???? Think about it, no food, no gas, no diapers, no formula for the baby. No electricity, no house / apt.

Do you think it would be the right thing to do, to sacrifice yourself for the ones you love.

You may be facing that decision sooner than you think.

Don't sell your soul just to provide for your family.

Better yet, ask yourself, would you rather sacrifice your soul today for something that will not last for the ones you love and risk ETERNITY WITHOUT THEM.???

Pastors have been preaching this for years and they probably will until the sun turns into a red giant and swallows the earth 5 billion years from now.

Jesus returns to the happiness of one and many, one for love the others for the return of a true doctor

Errrrr because there are tons of scriptures saying Christ will return?

2Th 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

2Th 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

Second Coming is an event.

AntiChrist is a person because he was referred to as "son of Dan".

Religianity misleadings. The kingdom of heaven is within.

when the second coming happen, you will already be dead because the second coming is after the Armageddon, the anti Christ is people who are not Christian
