On, 'the mind we foolishly treasure...one moment we are flying high the next we about to fall.' and 'time is of the essence'

To me this is the meat of your poem. Indeed, we are so caught up with the illusions of the observable reality that we think we know. Because of this, curiosity is replaced with doubt and the latter imposes such a meandering road on our quest to self realization. Unless one realizes that time is the whole that contains all its parts, its essence will be misconstrued and might manifest as a mere lesson, a mere action or experience that veils the insight we need.

Wow, very much what has been on my mind of late.

I had always dreamed of raising my own kids and now it looks like it may not happen now.

Time to rethink priorities, and whether it is something I really want to do. Also with my friend having a cancer scare this week and the last of my mother figures from my childhood recently dieing, this has been a time of reflection.
