Why the Military at Wimbledon?
When our Armed Services are stretched to the limit, why should they be deployed for BS duties at the Wimbledon Championships? Who's paying for this?

loads of people on here haven't a clue, they are on leave, all volunteers, they do get money for travelling down and cash to eat and to pay for food, so the tax payers pays.

It's there as a reward for those that serve, a chance for them to get some of the limelight for volunteering for their country. They enjoy it, it's not BS and it's nothing to do with anti terror paranoia. Simply put a "thank you".

Are you sure they were on duty and not there as a representation of our soldiers???? All sporting events have military as a symbol not as security
If they were there for security purpose's than the British Parliament paid for it

A major event like this is an obvious terrorist target - If anything was to happen there would be instant world wide coverage.
Better to be safe than sorry.

The tourist revenues and sponsorships don't by any means go to the government for "reimbursement,"... This is a good question, I don't think we'll ever know.

The military are there because it is tradition and do not worry because they have to take holiday to go there.
