What if I have a 3 Years/36,000 Mile warranty and im under the 36,000 miles 6 years later?
My a/c just went out and the Chrysler only has 18,000 miles on it, and it's a 2002, should my warranty still be in effect?
They say it's the "the box" at the Goodyear shop, they want $500.00. I can't believe it, we hardly drive that that car.
Thanks everybody.

Doesn't matter if you only had 100 miles on it, it expires 3 years from the date it was first sold. Likewise, if it was only 1 year old and had 45,000 miles on it, it would be out of warranty.
I would get a second opinion on the repair.
I would also like to know what they mean by it's "the box" --- sounds suspiciously vague and possibly misleading as if they either don't know, or are trying to release as much money as possible from your wallet.
You don't say exactly what your A/C system is (or isn't) doing, so it's really hard to say for sure. Could be something as simple as a relay that costs $15, a resistor, an actuator that changes the doors inside the case, the control iteself gone bad, or an y other number of things.

A 3 Year/36,000 Mile Warranty goes by a "Whichever Comes First" policy. If you drive a vehicle for 3 years and have not reached your 36,000 miles, the warranty is over due to the time limit. The same would be if you drove the 36,000 miles before 3 years are up, the warranty is over as well, as you had reached the mileage limit of the policy.

No you had a 3 year warranty. If you went over 36000 miles in the first 6 months that would have been the end of it also.

6 year olds move a lot during their day. Calling it 3 miles doesn't make it worse. My 5 yo grandson completed a 5k recently. My 9 yo daughter did a 5k in 40 minutes recently (although she trained) so, no, three miles is not too much.

No. It is either or, whichever comes first.
Sorry. I had a Jeep that I drove only occasionally and the 7 year / 70k warranty went out before I hit 50k.

No, it's 3 yrs or 36,000 miles, whichever comes FIRST.
It probably only covered the "drive train" anyway, and wouldn't have covered your air conditioning unit.

Your waranety is void.. Its a Whichever comes first policy on any powertrain. Try going to local store and buying some coolent and recharging it yourself, its really easy.
