North American hard court season is next, which climaxes with the US open. This year is slightly different to others as the Olympics take place just before the US Open.

Here's a rough typical calendar:

Jan to Apr - Hard court season (Australian Open - Jan)

May to Jun - Clay court season (French Open - May/June)

June - Grass court season (Wimbledon - June)

The next tournament to have both Men and Women is the Canada Masters (currently sponsored as the Roger's Cup). In 2009 it will also become a '1000-level' series event, which means a mandatory player field and new rules and sanctions.

The next (and last) Grand Slam tournament is the US Open at Flushing Meadows and is the highest-attended annual sporting event in the world. It begins on August 25th and although the prize money is yet to be confirmed, in 2007 it was $19,600,000 accross the board, $6,588,000 for the women and the same for the men with the rest for doubles, qualifiers, juniors, etc...
