What materials have the greatest toughness, compressive strength, and tensile strength?
Don't think there's much more to add, save that I'm doing some research for a story and looking for a material that can have a sizable pocket of vacuum in the middle without imploding. Manufacturing difficulties are irrelevant.

Different types of steel's fit those requirements. One type called Hastelloy is a predominantly nickle based steel which is very resistant to corrosion, tough and very strong. It is also very expensive.
Do not listen to people who may opt to say titanium. It is indeed strong for its weight, but it is not the strongest and it also has weak compressive and tensile strengths.

Steel is often used to absorb energy in car impacts because it is tough
