how do you trouble shoot 96 tbird 4.6 ingnition= no spark!!?
car ran great last night when parked now wont start. getting fuel but no spark. how what and how do you check sensors and computer etc?
O.K. just after I posted this question it started right up? I went to check crank sensor by plugging in a noid light to injector harness as I crank it over the light blinked and engine started quickly and has started everysince. Maybe my computer had a brain fart.
gator= this car has no distributor,dis ignition with two coils and a bunch of other crap but thanks for your input. and yes it poored last night and I forgot to put the car in the garage last night.
alvarz yes I did put it on a reader with out it running it keep showing no link, then when it started showed no codes

its not the computer, its the ignition system ie: coils, distributer, pick up coil, and if equiped cam or crankshaft sencor and a few other parts, but if you dont have any spark to none of the wires it could be yr crank sencor, but yll hv to test everything else first, gd lk

U should get the computer scanned,,,but I guess U dont know anyone with one and obviously U cant drive to one. The 2 main
sensors for spark are the crank shaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
Look thru the web for info on testing each of them.

Plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, retrace these to see if they are at fault. Did it rain last night? Check for water near the fire wall.

auto zone can check the module for you if you take it off and bring it in the store, if its good, then its probably the coil.
