new ipod touch apps?

so i bet you all heard theyre coming out with new ipod touch apps friday with the new iphone.

so i have a few questions.

if they are going to be ten bucks,

1) where and how do i buy it? (will it be on itunes, apple, ect)

2) is it madatory?

3) what are the five new apps?

and this may seem a little ditzy

but what exactly does new firmware mean and what even is firmware?

thanks for any one who can help!

    1) Same as January update. When you connect iPod Touch to the computer, iTunes will ask you

    2) No.

    3) Mail, Stocks, Maps, Weather, and Notes...and about 4000 other applications not made by Apple.

    Firmware is hardware software. :P. Okay, so you know when you boot up a Windows computer, you see the DOS screen and when you boot up an Apple computer you see the Apple logo? All that is firmware. No matter how much you kill your Windows or Macintosh operating system, they will always show up.

    Software is something that runs on the Operating System. So like games you install on Windows or you install on Mac OS X.

    Yes they will cost 9.95.

    You will have the option on iTunes when you plug in your iPod touch to the computer. (It will be the same process as how you updated your iPod touch to the Software Upgrade 1.1.4.)

    No it is optional. (but recommended by me)

    There are not five new apps.

    I am not sure if you are talking about the apps included in the 1.1.4 Software Update which includes Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather, and Notes. or the newest update 2.0 which includes the above if you do not already have and the app store, scientific calculator, and other minor features.

    A firmware is a software update in which your software will be a lot better when done.
