I accidentally stabbed myself while working in my flowerbed. I've lost 2 cats with feline leprosy.?
Tool was full of dirt cats use as litterbox & is infected with feline leprosy. The tool went in so deep, when I pulled it out the dirt blocked the hole so there wasn't a drop of blood. I've flushed it out many times with peroxide but it definetly isn't impoving. Can a human catch Feline Leprosy & what's the danger of cat feces? This happened 7-3 & this is 7-8 Any advice besides Emergency RM.

I would actually call (calmly) a veterinarian and ask this question. They would know all about feline leprosy if its in your community (in fact--can you call the vet who treated your cats?). This is caused by a mycobacterium, so it is treatable if it crosses to humans (I do not know). You are on day 5 post wound, correct? So you are not going to get a more common infection (it would have shown by now--I assume you have no signs of an infection, or you would have said). You should also be sure your tetanus is up to date.
