What are the best places to eat in Akron Ohio?
I'll be going to Ohio next week and staying in Akron. Anyone who's been there or lives there have any recommendations?

A family owned Akron institution is Parasson's original location on Waterloo Road. They have good food, decent sized portions and reasonable prices (especially at lunch time). As long as you're not creeped out by a giant Al Capone head on the wall looking at you, you'll do fine here.
A one of a kind place would be the Tangier near downtown on Market Street. This is higher priced with manufactured higher class to match. The Tangier is more well known as a meeting place, but it's restaurant is another long time Akron staple. Whenever I ate there, the place's pretentiousness seemed to distract from the quality of the food. Jeans and t-shirt definitely don't cut it here. They renovated the place recently to change its long date purple Eqyptian decor to a brown and beige wonderland. Whether that was a good or bad choice is in the eye of the beholder.

Luigi's in Akron routinely serves up some of the best pizza in NE Ohio. Check that out. But get there when they open or you'll wait and wait. Cash only too. Plus, you'll be within walking distance of Chrissie Hynde's vegetarian restaurant, Veggiteranean.
