We tried elance and getafreelancer but I don't think we can stay with them for life.
I found many companies not ever been to such websites and still have lots of business.
Can anyone guide me please...

You can register at other freelance websites like http://eufrelance.com/ , http://joomlasack.com/ , http://scriptlance.biz/ , http://getafreelnacer.com/ ,etc and start bidding for all web designing projects posted there, you should bid as low as possible initially.

Contact nearest web design company. They surely build a web project for you because as per my experience there is no site that provides web design project.
