Remember the folded paper puzzles from school? They opened in different directions to reveal messages.?

It was something the girls did. Someone would ask a question and pick a color or number and that determined which way the puzzle was opened for the answer. Does anyone remember what those are called and how to make them?

I know they've been around for years - grade school for me was back in the Sixties.

Update:

Thakns to alexis and omicron142! Alexis, your answer came in first and had the name I remember from school. Omicron142, you gave a link to a website that had good information and pictures. You both deserve best answer, but I can't decide, so I'm going to leave it to the voters. Thanks again to both, and sorry I wimped out on the decision.

a cootie catcher! take a perfect square piece of paper and fold all the corners inward to make a smaller square. Then, fold the corners in again to make a smaller square. Fold in half vertically, then straighten...fold in half horizontally, then straighten. Thats it. Your fingers fit in the grooves and u can write whatever u want in them. Most people do numbers on the outside to count how many times u open and close the catcher. have fun!
