When you read a vampire book?

what do you hate? Like when your reading a vampire book and a vampire and human fall in love do you hate it??? What else happens in vampire books that you hate????

Update:

know I'm not refering to the twilight series I just want to know what you readers hate about vampire stories. I hate when a vampire hunter and vampire fall in love. All vampire hunter books annoy me.

Update 2:

I agree that its annoying when there are different stereotypes of vampires in different authors books.

Update 3:

I believe twilight_luvr's lying. There is no book in the world that readers love everything about it. Even if the thing is small it annoys them. Maybe you don't hate it, there has to be atleast one thing you didn't like about it!

I hate it when they insist that a crucifix or Christian cross is the only holy symbol that will stop a vampire. What about vampires that are older than Christianity? What holy symbol will stop them? The Star of David is a fairly recent symbol for Judaism, it wasn't around before Christ came to earth. Islam was founded in the late 500's to early 600's AD, so any vampire older than that wouldn't be afraid of the Quran or mosque.

What about vampires from China or Japan?

What about vampires from outer space? (I've read several stories about vampires from other planets). Earthy religious symbols won't work on them.

I can understand the cruicifix fixation for stories written in the 1700's and 1800's, when most people writing about vampires were European and surrounded by Christianity, but any modern writer should be able to think beyond that particular limitation.

Personally I prefer romantic vampire stories to action vampire stories. If the entire book is about bloodsucking and violence I lose interest. Mythology says that vampires are very seductive and interesting. If it sticks to the silly 'burned by the sun and only focused on killing people' it's annoying. It's fun to read something that gives the main character a personality and human like qualities.

  • I hate how there are so many different vampire stereotypes and how there is a different stereotype for each vampire book I read.

For example, Twilight vampires are different than Peeps vampires who are different than the Vampire Academy vampires.

I usually read a couple series at once, so it gets really confusing to remember what type of vampire goes where.

I've learn the Twilight saga too and no it isn't dangerous to learn vampire books. The man or woman who concept that's more commonly near minded. We will have to all be open to special matters. I do not see why god could oppose to this.

I guess I hate how the vampires are always gorgeous, and they always fall in love with the gorgeous women. It makes me feel bad about myself and I feel like I am never going to find someone amazing like that.

I hate when authors write steriotypical characters. If they want to write a vampire book, then they really need to make their own characters. Not all vampires need to burn in the sun or sleep in coffins. Authors really need to learn to make the characters their own.

when the heroine is a total idiot.

like...i don't know, she figures out that the dude is a vamp and then she runs off in the middle of the night to scream and cry about it.

i also hate if the main character is a serious outcast (hated by classmates, teased, alterna/punk/emo/goth/weird things that shouldn't really be combined into one) and then, all of a sudden, they find vampires and they BELONG

they're like "yes, people who get me! all my fantasies are about to come true! i will be one of them!"

    so annoying =)
