MS Paint help!?

I draw in MS Paint, and I notice that everytime I save, then later reopen, it's slightly blurry. like, the lines go from black, to a gray, then to white. I was wondering what file extension I need to save it as, or any other way to prevent this from happening.

Their is a new program developed by Washington State University for Microsoft and it can be downloaded for "FREE" it's called Paint.NET. It has been rumored that it will replace the current paint program in windows. I've been using it for some time now and it dose not have the distortion problem that the Paint program has and is much more advanced. Just google or do a search for "Paint.NET" and you will find several options for download. Believe me, you will be very happy with this program.
