well no doubt, the best software is photoshop, you can do so much modifying with pictures. I warn you though, if you change the size of the pictures the pixels will get messed up and the inmages might get a bit blurry

All of the systems that "Grandma_J" indexed are FREE for downloading from the Internet. And IrfanView is generally the smallest in measurement, however significant on skills. The GIMP is greater, however does a entire lot extra, similar to Adobe's PhotoShop.

You can download the Open Source image editor, GIMP for free. Just Google it. It's not nearly as good as Photoshop, but you can't beat the price.
