Switching Cell phone providers?
We currently have Verizon Wireless and they have continued to mess up our account for the past 6 months. We ordered phones and we didn't like them so we sent them back and our account was credited for the phone purchases and all was fine but now they pulled our credits off a month later and we are just getting fed up and we are thinking of switching to a different company. We still have almost 1.5 years left on the account though and it is just been hell so far. IF we decide to switch and Verizon won't get rid of the ETF cancellation charges will we even be able to get another phone company?
I mean will this mess up our credit enough that another cell company, like ATT, would deny us service or what not? Our account holder has excellent credit right now...like close to a 700 rating I believe...
Thanks!
It reports this "Payment Past Due: Your balance includes a past due amount of $457.13, which is due immediately." But last month it told us it was 81.60 and we paid that and then it said it was 0. Now all of a sudden when the billing cycle changed it said it is that but the weird thing is where it has my regular bill it says 139.99 but does not add the 457.13. I hope this is a screw up.

Verizon Wireless didn't pull off the credits. Did you just notice this? If so, it is because Verizon Wireless is working on your bill and your billing cycle may just have closed and you now get new minutes and all the other stuff. They pull the credits off and then usually the next day or the day after, they will have your account balance ready. Verizon Wireless isn't even capable of accessing your account to change anything unless they know the last four digits of the account holders social.
Verizon Wireless prorates the early termination fee for the primary line. This means, each month you have Verizon, the primary lines ETF will go down by $7.29 per month. If you have an outstanding (meaning not paid) ETF, most wireless carriers won't even consider activating a phone for you. Also, remember, the ETF is billed for every line. The primary gets prorated, but all of the others must pay a full $175. At first, Verizon will have some bugs and problems, like all wireless carriers. They didn't take your credit away. No I dont think it will mess up your credit! But don't get AT&T because its junk! Verizon is the best out there by a long shot!
If you are going to switch then go to Tmobile since they are going to be having some really sweet phones coming out and have the best customer service out there!
Or even try sprint because they have some nice phones and decent coverage but i would just stick with verizon for the rest of your time and not take a chance of anything being messed up

Oh please rethink what your doing. My girlfriend and I had A&TT for over five years. They are the worst cell phone service out there. We had droped calls every day. We were so tired of the poor service that we left them and went to Verizon and couldn't be any happier. Good customer service and no droped calls. The grass is always greener. You won't be happy with A&TT. Besides that Verizon is rated # 1 in Consumers reports Magazine.

sprint is fairly available, they have some depraved much less costly telephones that are fairly snazzy finding. The each thing plan is in basic terms like fifty dollars a month in case you disclude push to talk.
