Tree Identification?

Does anyone know the name of a tree that has low branches, close to the ground? The branches are wide in circumference and they run parallel to the ground and then curve upwards. The trunk is also wide in circunference. I think the bark is white, gray, or light brown. Any help would be appreciated...

Update:

I don't know anything about the leaves, I know that would help though.

My pin oak trees fit the description, but as everyone says - leaf shape is soooo vital for ID of a tree, or any plant.

leaf description is a major aid in this particular situation. simple, compound, type of veins, size and shape, that sort of thing.
