What's a good guitar for about 300-400$?

Well for my first guitar I had a Squier (by Fender) Affinity Series Strat but I gave that one to a friend and now I have a B.C. Rich Avenge SOB but it's not really good for my style of music so I will probably sell this one. I've already had it for about 5 months anyway so yeah... Anyways, what would be a good guitar for about 300-400$. I mostly play Rock, Hard Rock, Punk, and occasionally SOME Metal.

Thank you.

Ibanez makes some decent guitars in that price range....also keep an eye on your local classifieds for used fenders (I've seen some nice used strats and teles sell for well under 500 dollars, but it might take a while to find one you like)

I'd have got to disagree with Nick Name entirely. Schecter are very good identified for his or her Bass guitars however their electrical guitars are honestly rather terrible. I'm no longer definite approximately what form of sound you are watching for, however Epiphone's are regularly low-priced and generate a well sound. Either that otherwise you might uncover your self a low-priced Ibanez.
