my friends are leaving Runescape, and are looking for an alternative game.
I'd like to add that we're in our 40's, so we're looking for something that adults play. Also - Runescape costs $5 a month, and has a free version if you want to try it out, so going to a game like WOW for $20 is quite the financial jump.

Maplestory is a good and free game. Unlike runescape, Maplestory is a 2D game that is free time. Just make sure you and your friends are on the same server and you use a guide for whatever class you choose to be.

WoW. It's not THAT expensive....great place to chat and play with friends...and will definitely keep you busy for a while. WoW can be installed on both a mac and the pc.
