Vera is a word and name in several Slavic languages, including Russian, which means "faith." It is a cognate with Latin vera "true," Gaelic fior "true," and German wahr "true; real." Variations of the name are Verena and Verina.

It´s "vera" in serbian, "vjera" in croatian, "důvÄra" in czech.
