I.P Address question: How can I know who is the person/operator/end user behind an IP address?

This IP address is from the internet and is part of my local ISP's network.

    Contact your ISP. They can track the IP address to its point of origin.

    You can't.

    No ISP allows that sort of trace from a private individual. As a general rule, only law enforcement can get access to that.

    Besides. If the person logs off, they will simply draw another IP when they log in again.

    You can't pin someone to an IP address. The ISP does know which account is which IP, and companies can get that information... but that doesn't mean it was the account holder that caused the problem, only that it was their IP used.

    You would have to subpoena their ISP.

    Go to http://www.ip-adress.com/whois/ and see what you can find out. Maybe not much but maybe what you'll need,

    do a net trace, its illegal in some states
