I knew a lady that had gastric bypass.
She passed away under anesthesia.
Any surgery is risky and the more you need the procedure the riskier it is. (overweight , sleep apnea).
Be sure you are as healthy as you can be and have a good doctor.

I had lap band 4-16-08 and I am down 38 pounds and lots of inches and I had no trouble and not only that I resumed my daily activities the next day. I didn't take pain medication because what discomfort I had was tolerable. The only thing I took was two extra strength Tylenol and that was for the effect of the anesthesia and I crushed them up and took them on Thursday and I had surgery on Wednesday, which the doctor said I probably would due to the medicines he used. In five years both surgeries have the same results.

Why do you want it? It will just make you throw up if you eat too much, and you'll have a severely restricted diet afterward. Just make the diet changes without it. Hire life coaches, therapists, or nutritionists to watch what you eat and force you to change. Exercise. The world's fattest man lost 700 pounds without surgery (Manuel Uribe). You can too.
