MacBook or HP Pavilion dv6700t laptop?

I am having trouble deciding on which laptop to get. I've read good thing about the MacBook and good things about the HP Pavilion dv6700t. I usually play games like Call of Duty 4 and WarRock. I am also going to use it for school use. I dont mind the price as long as its under $1500.

MacBook (white) Specs:

- Mac OSX Leopard 10.5

- Intel Core 2 Duo (2.4GHz)

- 2GB Memory

- 160GB Hard Drive

HP Pavilion dv6700t Specs:

- Windows Vista Home Premium (32-Bit)

- Intel Core 2 Duo (2.4GHz)

- 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

- 160GB Hard Drive

Update:

Should I buy Windows XP Home Edition off of Ebay if I want to play some Windows only games?

    No questions MacBook

Windows is horrible, when Vista came out consumers hated it . Most Vista users hated it so much that most of them just downgraded back to XP. I tried it and I never felt so stressed while looking at a monitor. But with a Mac I felt like the most powerful man on earth

Macintosh is best. I just want to throw all 4 of my Windows PC's out of my window and get a Mac. But I can't afford to switch all of my PC's to Mac at once

Consider yourself lucky that you even have the option of a MacBook

Just don't get that slim book it doesn't even have a CD Drive

Source(s): Oh and by the way Vista doesn't even use all of the available RAM like my PC's I put 2GB RAM upgrade on all of it but it only uses 528MB!!! WTF?! And with Vista it's even worse

The best one you can get is the MacBook Pro, 15-inch, 2.4GHz Simply because it has the best processor and the best INTEGRATED graphics controller compared to the rest. Battery life is decent as well. The only thing that i hated is the fact that it only had 2GB but that is actually pretty good. Then i'd rank the rest as HP Pavilion dv6700t (2nd) Dell Inspiron 1720(3rd) Sony Vaio CR series (Model Number: VGN-CR4000) (4th) These aren't bad though it just means that the macbook is better in terms of specifications.

I got a MacBook a few months ago (swapped over from PC) and am not looking back. They are superior machines & run amazingly well. I highly recommend them. So far I have not encountered anything on the Mac that I could not do. But on the PC, there are lots of things I can't do or take wayyyy too long. I know what everyone else is saying and I admit I'm not a big gamer, so I can't personally comment on that. I don't think that's any reason to buy a computer with piece-of-crap Vista though. You absolutely WILL regret that. Leopard rocks.

If you play a lot of games, than the macbook is not a good choice. It doesn't have as much visual power and general power for games like Call Of Duty. You can get Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) on the macbook but I really recommend the HP for your needs. Good Luck!

if you want to play games get the HP Pavillion, the MacBook doesnt hav a graphic card unless you get the MacBook Pro which is a lot better than some desktops out there

If you want a better gaming experience, I think HP is the way to go

The MacBook just can't compete with it's current graphics card

But the MacBook Pro is terrific for gaming, I have that one.

You didn't list the RAM that comes with the HP. Go to www.hp.com. The dv6700t is available on their website and you can customize it. You'll be able to add a bigger hard drive, more RAM and a better graphics card for what you get as the base price for a basic MacBook.

    Check it out:

    http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/cto.do

That link is to the customization page for the dv6700t. Scroll down and you'll be able to find all the components that you want and need.

i got the HP dv6700t, and my mom has a macbook. I've compared the 2, and the Macbook is way better because it Mac OS X has so many more features than Vista. I'm actually considering selling my HP for a macbook.

I'm biased, but I would choose the MacBook. I love Mac OS X and loathe Vista. Beyond that, you get more memory in the MacBook.
