Lucid dreaming?

Hi, I have a few questions about lucid dreaming. This is a subject I'm extremely interested in and any insight would be extremely appreciated.

First of all, I just wanted to hit up on a few questions I had.

1) How often can you lucidly dream?

2) To what extent can you control your dreams when you become lucid, and is there any way to reach a higher level of lucid dreaming.

3) How often do YOU lucidly dream, and is this on purpose or on accident.

4) How long have you been lucidly dreaming, and how good are you at it, and what can you do in your dreams.

6) This is one I really want to know, what was your best lucid dream?

5) Are there any non-drug sleeping tips you have to share? Because I've not been really sleeping lately.

These are just a few of the questions I'm really interested in getting answerd, if you have anything else to share it would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much!

if you're having trouble sleeping, maybe you should relax and not do anything busying before bed. i used to have anxiety about not being able to sleep so i took sleeping pills. those work like a dream, but they are addicting.

lucid dreaming happens in your deepest level of sleep. so if you get a good sleep, you are likely to lucid dream. also, dreams commonly happen when something dramatic or intriguing happens to you during the day. if something disturbs you, confuses you or gives you a new point of view, or if you even meet an interesting person you may have interesting dreams. do you like horror movies? those get me dreaming. sometimes i also have dreams about things i want or want to change. try getting a good sleep and daydream a lot. maybe even watch a scary movie (if you don't mind the occasional nightmare ;).) i may be biased there because i LOVE scary movies, mostly because the plots are so twisted, but that's what gets me dreamin'

i am an avid dreamer and have been writing down what i remember of my dreams for a while now. email me and i would love to send you the word doc.

I don't know much but I've have lucid dreams the past two nights in a row. When I was little I used to force myself to wake up from nightmares or change the events so that it didn't end badly.

I lucid dream pretty often but it's complete accident. I don't know how to do it. Just happens.

My best lucid dream was this nightmare I had of my friend and I. We were stuck in a river, struggling not to drown and we were about to go over a huge waterfall that was going to kill us. But then I realized I was dreaming and conjured up a vine and swung out of the water with my friend and into a really nice, scenic jungle. haha

I think that writing down your dreams helps you remember them and that might make you dream lucidly more often. I don't know though. I don't really write mine down any more and I still become aware that I'm dreaming.

    1) it's possible to have (and i have had) several lucids on one rem cycle.

    2) complete control over everything, yes, there are several.

    3) about twice a month, sometimes accidental, sometimes purposefully

    4) 10+ years (i'm 18). I'm average, i'd like to get better. I can do anything that I wish to.

    5) read something before you go to bed, it makes you tired, and helps you fall asleep, and in some cases, helps you achieve lucidity. or just go to class and listen to the teacher for a while, always worked for me.

look up "reality tests", these are simple tests that only work in you unconscious state, such as jumping (if you're dreaming, you'll float back down), pulling your finger (in a dream, it'll stretch, it freaks you out the first few times it works, this is my main lucidity achievement method) also try holding your nose, and try to inhale (in a dream, you will still, inhale because your physical self isn't really holding your nose). do some google searches on the subject. you could even join a dream group, they will help you develop your skills and learn from one another's experiences. hope this helps

Some lucid dreams are not actually dreams, they're very real events happening beyond the realm of this earthly universe, and that's why it appears we can control them - because we do, or at least our our subconscious does as our conscious self sleeps.

We are more than earthly beings, we are immortal spiritual souls taking residence in the form of a human body on earth for the purpose of evolving, experiencing knowing who we really are and who we want to become.

As our matter is too heavy to travel, we do it through our spirits as we sleep - we go back and forth between earth and the spiritual world - our real home - because, well quite simply we miss it. It's paradise and we long to go back there. We can't remember it because that would defeat the purpose of being here, we would not worry about anything, we would not strive for a good education or job or community so we cause ourselves to forget, until the more we experience the more we remember.

So pay attention to these lucid dreams, because they have a lot to teach you about your self and who you really are.

I have had 4 lucid dreams in a 6 year time frame. Strangely, all of them were being romantically involved with four different men I really don't have any feelings for at all. I woke up really surprised! I could control them a little, but was feeling quite bewildered so didn't really have the presence of mind to try. It was completely by accident, but was absolutely fantastic! I am a reserved kind of person so I think this was my mind's opportunity to let loose because I won't ever do it myself. If you can't lucid dream maybe it's because you live your life to the fullest and your mind isn't lacking anything it needs.

    1 Not very often.

2 I made myself fly once. I'm not sure if you can make it more lucid.

3 It just sorta happens. I realize it's a dream and start doing whatever.

4 I've only had like 5 in the past 6 months.

6 I would rather not say. Hehe

    5 Nope, sorry.
