Be warned the result will sound karoke, but me and my boys used to do it this way just for fun:

After getting a free audio program like audacity, there are two ghetto ways to proceed. 1: if you only have audacity, then you wanna do some mic checks where your recording at the same time you got the beat on your speakers playing through a DIFFERENT simple music playback program, like windows media player and itunes, so that you'll not what volume to have your beat playing at when you wanna rhyme for real. You should start the audacity recording program first, and then play the beat and rhyme while audacity is recording

2: If you have a multitracker like adobe audition, or you could possibly search for "free multitracker" and find something, you'll wanna record a ghetto acapella. You do this by having the beat play while your headphones are plugged in, you rhyme while listening to the beat in your headphones. If your multitracker can playback while recording, then you have this all (the beat and the recording track) in the multitracker, if it can't then you simply play the beat with windows media player or something.
